Kaiju Krush!

The first thing to notice about this beer is the beautiful can. Bright blue lights up the sky and bright yellow creates the sand from which rises a stoned-looking pineapple making the ‘peace’ sign. The name ‘Kaiju Krush!’ is written above Mr Pineapple in fun bubble letters.

The beer is described as a “tropical Pale Ale’ there’s no wondering where this name comes from when the fruity-ness hits you on the first sip. I’d say it’s more of a passionfruit flavour than pineapple so I question why Mr Passionfruit is missing from the can.

I feel like this beer should be drank in the height of summer or at least in the sun but I’m in a dark, moderate temperature room as I drink it. It makes it hard to ‘get’ why the beer is so fruity and while the beer is nice on the tastebuds, there’s a weird lingering aftertaste. It’s not overly bad, but it’s enough to make me reconsider a particularly high rating; If I were continuously pouring this into my mouth on a summers day until I was too drunk to notice the aftertaste it would be a different story.
